Terms of Service

Last updated July 3, 2026

These Terms of Service govern your use of the HandyFox website and waitlist. HandyFox is operated pre-launch as a waitlist; the marketplace that connects clients with independent contractors is not yet available to the public. By joining the waitlist or using this site, you agree to these terms.

1. Who we are

HandyFox Inc. ("HandyFox", "we", "us") is building a home-services marketplace for New York City. Today the site's only function is to collect waitlist sign-ups and share information about the upcoming service. References to the "marketplace" or "app" describe features that are still in development.

2. The waitlist

Joining the waitlist means you would like to be notified when HandyFox opens. It does not create an account, guarantee access, or form any service contract. We may contact you by email about the launch, early access, and related product updates. You can ask us to remove you at any time by emailing [email protected].

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement to use this site. HandyFox will serve New York City only, covering all five boroughs. We do not currently offer service outside NYC and nothing on this site should be read as a promise of nationwide availability.

4. Independent contractors

When the marketplace launches, HandyFox will connect clients with independent contractors. Contractors are independent businesses, not employees, agents, or partners of HandyFox. We do not perform home-services work, supervise contractors, or guarantee the quality, safety, timing, or legality of any work arranged through the platform.

We intend to apply reasonable onboarding and verification checks, but you are responsible for your own decisions about who you hire or accept work from.

5. Payments

Payments in the marketplace will be processed by Stripe, our third-party payment processor. When payment features launch, your use of them will also be subject to Stripe's terms. HandyFox does not store full card numbers. During the waitlist phase we do not collect payment information.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the site. In particular, you agree not to:

  • submit false, misleading, or someone else's contact information;
  • attempt to disrupt, probe, or gain unauthorized access to our systems;
  • use automated means to scrape or overload the site;
  • use the site for any unlawful purpose.

7. Your content

If you submit information to us, including feedback, you grant HandyFox a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use it to operate and improve the service. When photo upload launches in the app, you will be responsible for having the rights to any images you share and for not including content you are not permitted to distribute.

8. Intellectual property

The HandyFox name, logo, site design, and content are owned by HandyFox or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. These terms do not grant you any right to use our branding without our written permission.

9. Disclaimers

The site is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, HandyFox will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of the site or waitlist. Our total liability for any claim relating to the site is limited to one hundred US dollars.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product develops toward launch. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify waitlist members by email. Continued use of the site after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New York, New York.
