Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information HandyFox collects through its website and waitlist, how we use it, and the choices you have. HandyFox is a pre-launch home-services marketplace for New York City.
1. Information we collect
During the waitlist phase, we collect the email address you submit, along with basic technical details your browser provides, such as device type, language, timezone, screen size, and referral or campaign source. When the full app launches, we expect to collect additional information you choose to provide, including:
- contact details such as phone number;
- location and address information needed to match and schedule jobs;
- photos you upload to describe a job;
- messages exchanged through the platform.
2. How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- notify you about the HandyFox launch and early access;
- operate, secure, and improve the site and, later, the marketplace;
- match clients with contractors and support scheduling and payments;
- understand how the site is used through privacy-conscious analytics;
- comply with legal obligations and prevent abuse.
3. Analytics
We use analytics to measure page views and understand how visitors reach and use the site. Analytics data is tied to a randomly generated identifier stored in your browser rather than to your name. We use this to improve the product, not to build advertising profiles.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run the service:
- Stripe, to process payments once payment features launch;
- service providers that host our infrastructure, send email, or provide analytics, under agreements that limit their use of the data;
- when the marketplace is live, the contractor or client you are matched with, to the extent needed to complete a job;
- authorities or others when required by law or to protect rights and safety.
5. Data retention
We keep waitlist information until you ask us to remove it or until it is no longer needed for the purposes described here. You can request deletion at any time by emailing [email protected].
6. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and you can unsubscribe from launch emails at any time. New York residents and residents of other jurisdictions may have additional rights under applicable law. To exercise any of these, email [email protected] and we will respond as required by law.
8. Children
HandyFox is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as HandyFox moves toward launch. We will update the date above and, for material changes, notify waitlist members where appropriate.
10. Contact
